Owner & Therapist
Susan Magee originally established Synergy Healthcare with her partner Dr. Finbar Magee in 1997. The clinic closed in 2015, whilst the complementary side continued under a new name, Synergy Holistic.
Susan studied medicine at Queens University 1984-1987, completing studies in anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. She specializes in digestive health issues and is a qualified insured and registered GPACT Colon Hydrotherapist and has completed training in nutrition and lifestyle consultations and in EAV Food Sensitivity/Intolerance Testing.
She is a fully qualified Massage Therapist and a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists. She has completed training in Swedish Body Massage, (deep tissue massage), Indian Head Massage, Myofascial Release, Acupressure massage and Thai Massage.
Susan is also qualified as a fitness and pilates instructor. Susan’s uniqueness is her very broad knowledge of the human body, its anatomy, how it moves, and how injuries and strains can occur within the body. Drawing from her experience, she will give the massage that the body needs at the point in time.
Organ & Food Sensitivity Consultant and Cosmetic Acupuncture Practitioner
Helen completed Electro Acupuncture Diagnostics according to Voll (EAV) in June 2003 with the International Society of Homotoxicology.
In November 2008 she completed a course in Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture with CCM London (College of Chinese Medicine). She has been working at Synergy Healthcare since 2007.
Maria Rafferty BSc(Hons), Lic.Ac. CertATMAT, is an holistic therapist who offers an unique approach to women's health. By combining Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Maya Abdominal Massage and Craniosacral Therapy with a client-centred philosophy, Maria is able to treat a range of conditions.
Maria's integrated approach focuses on the individual, taking into account their lifestyle and range of symptoms, to create a personalised treatment plan for the whole person.
By addressing the root causes of dis-ease (rather than simply treating the symptoms), Maria helps her clients to take control of their own well-being and go on to achieve the best possible levels of health and vitality. Clients are given the support and the tools they need to gently cleanse and heal in body, mind and spirit.
Priscilla Mkomera is a qualified Sports Massage Therapist (Level 4 VTCT) who specializes in treating high physical performance individuals from Sports, Arts and any other physically exerting lifestyles.
She tailors her massage treatments to individual need, helping to assist body structures in recovery, healing, and conditioning.
During her earlier working life, for 8 years, she worked in the Advertising, T.V. Production and Film Industry in Zimbabwe, initially as a Props Buyer and later a Camera Assistant.
She moved to Northern Ireland in 2000, and obtained a Master of Arts in Media Studies at the University of Ulster (Coleraine). Since then she has worked as a Curator of Zimbabwean stone sculpture and as a freelance Gardener. From 2009 to 2010, Priscilla attended the Shiatsu School Dublin, learning Shiatsu Japanese massage.
Counsellor / Psychotherapist
Karen Copeland AdDipAM, FdSc, MBACP is a qualified, experienced and BACP registered counsellor/psychotherapist. Karen can offer friendly, professional support to help you through difficult times.
Using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), person centred or psychodynamic approaches she can address concerns with a wide range of issues such as e.g.: stress, depression, anxiety/panic disorder, abuse, grief etc. Karen's previous experience as a university manager involved in training, team building, mentoring, staff appraisal and development can also help in providing Life Coaching skills to clients.
Karen has extensive experience in all aspects of counselling with additional training and practice in addiction intervention, suicidal ideation, childhood sexual abuse, working with young people and post traumatic stress disorder. Counsellor / Psychotherapist
Helen ‘Belle’ Logue is an integrative counsellor who qualified in 2013 from the University of Ulster. She is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) and holds certificates in ‘Gay Affirmation Therapy’, ‘Grief Trauma’ & ‘Drug Awareness & Mental Health’.
She works on a one-to-one basis, with couples, in-family relationships & groups with a broad range of client ages from 16+ and with a highly diverse range of needs. As well as running a private practise she also volunteers with local community groups.
Belle also teaches a number of Personal Development & Confidence Building courses. She is a practitioner of Reiki and Seichem.
From 2004-2006 Belle attended the London School of Astrology successfully completing their Diploma Course. Although Astrology ‘is for entertainment purposes only’, Belle is professionally trained and regularly does readings for her growing client base.
Amanda is a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapy (FHT) and has been practicing at Synergy Healthcare since 2012. She is a qualified reflexologist and has completed courses in Anatomy & Physiology and Health & Safety.

Sophie Owen is a fully qualified Massage Therapist and Aromatherapist. She is also a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). She has completed training in Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage, Stone Therapy, Spa Therapy and more recently completed an Ayurvedic course in Goa, India. She has also completed a Higher National Diploma in Hair and Beauty Management from which she graduated with Distinction in all subject areas and gained an award for doing so.
Sophie has a passion for furthering her knowledge and skills in all aspects of Holistic Wellbeing and is currently studying Level 4 Sports Massage and Reflexology. What makes Sophie distinctive as a therapist is that she will draw on all her therapeutic training to deliver a treatment tailored to your body's requirements.
Amanda Brady is a well-known, highly qualified and experienced teacher and practitioner of complementary therapies. She has managed, taught and practised for thirty-five years in Britain, Ireland, the Far East and Australia.
Amanda is moving on from Belfast Metropolitan College where she has taught and co-ordinated complementary therapy courses since 1989. Her qualifications include; HND, ADFHE, Acupressure Dip Hong Kong, Reflexology Dip, Aromatherapy Dip, NADA Acupuncture Detox protocol.
